My first car!

These are some pics of my first car. It is a 2000 v6. It is all stock except for a Mac CAI, a Flowmaster exhaust, and tinted windows. I can't wait to start customizing it. I'm thinking about changing the paint but I kinda like it the way it is.

Congrats on the car! That would get the flat black treatment for now, lol. I have no idea what Ford was thinking with that color?

Yeah, sunburst gold? I liked it because I never really seen one this color, but I guess there's a reason for that. LoL. I am not too sure on what color I want tho.

Re: My first car!

Nice and good luck with your first ride. I agree on that color as above said.

I wish I could find pictures of some of my first cars but they would be paper pictures for sure way before digital ones were out LOL.

My uncle told me I should go to Maaco to get my car painted because that's where he went and it was cheap. I don't know tho because I've read reviews on the Internet and they are all mixed, some are good some bad. How much does a paint job usually cost?

Re: My first car!

NEVER GO TO MAACO! they suck and their work will show for it... hell even to get just a trunk done the guy was like.. hundred bucks i'll sand paint and clear it for ya... the next cheapest shop was 450... you get what you pay for...

I love that color... because no one has it.. if you can put your style into it... i say keep the paint. dont do what everyone else is doing. ie; how many mustangs have bronze wheels on a black car... i took a leap and i love it. just my .02

Thanks for all the input guys! I think I'm just gonna go with what Topless04GT said and make it my own. If I was to get a good paint job I might as well buy another car. Besides this one only cost me $2000. Although I would rather paint it, I will probably just keep this one for a while then buy another one in about a year or two.

Re: My first car!

maaco's paint is good it's just there preping sucks. They don't give two ish about preporation for the car, they're just lazy. Real good paint jobs will go around 2.5k-3k if you find the right person.

Re: My first car!

Don't even touch the paint. Do other things to accent it, like tint the windows, get darker wheels, smoked headlights, tail light tint, honeycomb cover on the rear deck lid, shaker hood, mach 1 grille, and slam that thing to the ground. That treatment would look great.

Dont do it!!!
Awhile back we had a Maaco and my friend worked there painting cars and I was waiting for him to get off work and he said I could come back there... The spots where he got paint on the trim, he was coloring in with a sharpie.

Re: My first car!

I don't like the paint on the car the way it is..but once you start accenting it, its got potential. If there is nothing wrong with the paint then thats money you can spend on go fast stuff.
and welcome btw
