We are getting rocked here in Huntsville, AL area.

We have had non stop Tornado Sirens all day and I just took this video of a confirmed Tornado touchdown 3-5 miles from my apartment

My parents neighborhood was hit by a Tornado today and another one is heading right toward them right now. They haven't had power since around 11AM today.

It isn't over either. I'm thinking about going to find a shelter now.

Their house was spared but others in the neighborhood were not as lucky. I don't know about the latest storm that just hit though.

We had a tornado a couple weeks back in the hood. Glad that it's not very often here.

Re: We are getting rocked here in Huntsville, AL area.

My folks were saying at one point today, they would look out into the back yard and see rain going and trees bending left to right. They would then go look into the front yard and see it all in the opposite direction...scary. Then they saw a a piece of 4x8 corrugated sheet metal drop out of the sky into the neighbor's backyard.

Re: We are getting rocked here in Huntsville, AL area.

I've become immune to tornado sirens. They've gone off every day this week so far.

We had a few wall clouds and funnels pop up last night, but I think we're finally out of it. Now time to deal with the MS river at 15 ft over flood stage and over the 1937 flood level. I think it's time to invest in a house boat.

Still no power in any of Huntsville or Tuscaloosa and parts of Birmingham also have now power.

My parents did escape. Two people were killed about three miles from their house and less than one mile from the high school I went too.

This not having power sucks but glad everyone I know is ok.

It is over here but the damage to our power grid is substantial. I don't think anyone really understands how bad it is in Alabama right now. When the sun comes up the damage will be revealed.

There is a news conference scheduled for 7:30am about the power situation here so I will know more then.

Re: We are getting rocked here in Huntsville, AL area.

Sorry to hear of all this, having been hit by a tornado three years ago July, I know exactly how devastating they can be. Sounds like there were a tremendous number of tornado's and a high loss of life....

Re: We are getting rocked here in Huntsville, AL area.

My dad went to Smithville, MS yesterday to help with search and rescue. So far 12 or 13 people have been confirmed dead.

Glad to here your parents and you are good brent, it got rough over this way yesterday. Those 2 that dies close to here last night were at a gas station that got leveled. I watched some of the videos. Insane. Thoughts are with everyone over there.

Entire neighborhoods taken off the map. Very sad... And in two of Alabama's biggest cities.
