I spent like an hour with my little brother scraping off the glue after tearing off the old tint on the back window because I could barely see out if it, I had to bribe my brother to work by agreeing to drive him to his bus stop tomorrow in the car lol.
And I have to replace the fuse for the radio because it's blown.

Yeah that's a 2v bud. And by the looks of it, it is the correct two valve for your car. 99 was the last year with Romeo 4.6's I believe. Practically the same engine. Differences are it he details. For instance the heads are 11 bolts on the Romeos and 13 on the windsors . I could be wrong, but it's something like that. Anyways , the left bank valve cover has that weird stem which is Romeo block feature.

I wonder why someone would put a 4V block with 2V heads ? That doesn't make sense at all

a good way to tell I'd to go count the bolts on the top of your valve covers and then check online. Or look to see if the engine numbers match the car. I would highly doubt that someone put 2v parts on a Mach block. It's not impossible, but improbable.

Ya man you're right... Is there any other way to tell, could he have just used different 32 valve heads? Or is there a way I can count the valves or something

You got schooled lol. That's definitely not a mach engine.

Unfortunately it's just a 2v. All 4V heads are wide like the ones Screaming Mach posted. However you still got a damn good deal on that car

if he replaced the calves he did something to eff them up in the first place lol.

But if you payed like 2gs for it it's still a good price for a 2v regardless. Does it run good?

Ya it runs great and everything but whatever I'm not gonna let it ruin my first car, I still love it and it's got a good list of mods already done to it (although I should probably check the validity of those as well lol)

You still got a great deal! It could still be bored, forged, etc and if heads were just gone through... Basically a new engine.

Well now you can't trust anything that guy told you. Trust us, that is a 2v engine. If it had the same number of bolts as a Romeo engine done, then you'd know it's actually likely the original engine. Still a good car, but you're not longer in the 300hp club .

Could it still be the mach one engine just with the other heads? Or was he completely lying to me by saying it was an 04 Mach one

Maybe, but very unlikely. The amount of work involved in removing all the parts from a 4v and swapping them on 2v block is ridiculous. Also, he would've just kept it 4valves. I've seen the opposite done. Take a 2v block and buy the 4heads, valve cover, timing chain cover , and all the other trimmings. I believe it was a lot of work and it was mainly because this guy had a lot of time on his hands.

Nothing is impossible, but it's extremely unlikely and you have to use common sense. It's easier to sell a used car with a "Mach 1" engine than one without I suppose lol. Still 4.6 2v , still a good deal. It's too bad he lied about the Mach I part.
