My 88 stang

well since I put it in the wrong section before I figured I should post it in the right one now. anyway on to the good stuff. it's an 88 lx that's ford performance
red with 95 cobra replicas. it has a balanced, all forged, arp hardware shortblock 306 with Edelbrock performer heads, b-303 cam, msd-btm ignition, msd billet distributor, twin turbo on 12lbs of boost.

Looking outstanding. I have a soft spot for the foxes after growing up and seeing them running around everywhere.

Question: why turbo and not supercharger?

well several reason. first I had a supercharged 2000 v6. loved it and the performance but wanted something different. second I love the sound of of the turbos spooling, love the feel of them spooling, and above all I got a great deal from a friend on the kit

Nice. So your preference is for turbos because of the sound and boost after they've spooled up?

well no. my main preference for this build was to have/try something different since I had the s/c v6 before. now that I have a turbo build I love the sound and feel over the supercharger but that's just a personal preference

Nice, thanks for the insight. I'm trying to get some things mapped out for my 07 and I can't decide if I want the power off of the line or to kick in at higher RPM's. The sound of the belt whine on SC's drives me insane but so does the sound of turbos spoiling up because I'm waiting for the car to blast off. Adding that kind of performance will be something I do much further down the line. I appreciate your insight.

yes sir. I had alot of fun with that v6. it dynoed around 340 whp @ 10 lbs of boost and was a great sleeper with good seat of the pants feel. now this car is a whole
different animal. it's a heads cam turbo motor @ 12lbs. there is very little lag so the power is pretty instant

Think a good set of headers, cat delete, with 3" pipes to some Magnaflow exhaust will drowned out the spool sound???

Is there anyway to overpower the turbo spool or belt whine from a supercharger possibly?
