Re: Post Your Ink - Part II

Here's mine.

In 2007 our youngest daughter was killed by a drunk driver.
She was 18 and had just graduated from high school.
My tattoo is in remembrance of her.

She always signed her name to notes she left for me and her mother with a small Heart symbol for "Love" then "Always Andi", with a smaller heart dotting the i' at the end of her nickname Andi. Her name was Andrea Marie.

My tattoo is a combination of the Sacred Heart, Angel Wings and a Rosary. I designed it myself.
The lettering on the ribbon on the Heart says "Always Andi" with a little heart dotting the i' just like she used to do.

My wife has a tattoo of her actual signature on top of her left foot.
We scanned it to a piece of paper and the artist transferred it.

When I can find a really good portrait artist, I plan to get one for each of our four daughters.

I recently lost my sister on December 31st 2011. All my tattoos but the tribal are for her. Getting a full sleeve in the new year all dedicated to her. Much respect to you my friend. Stay strong

Thank you Brett, and my condolences to you on the loss of your sister.
I know how much it hurts, and it never goes away and it never "gets better". You just have to learn how to live with your loss and continue on for the rest of your family.
Stay strong yourself.
I'll be looking forward to seeing your new dedication sleeve.

my dad recently passed away. his passion was woodworking, as a side business and making just about every piece of furniture in my house. I got this as a memorial for him.

Sorry about the loss of your Dad.
That's a cool tattoo, the first I've seen like that.

That is one impressive price of work.
I have an in memory of in the works myself, it suffered at set back but is in motion again.
I have lost a lot of important ppl in my life, can not even fathom my child. Your piece is inspirational to say the very least.

Re: Post Your Ink - Part II

Thanks guys.
Interacting with other people who have also suffered the loss of loved ones really does help.

deadspot, losing a child is the very worst thing that can happen to any parent and it has been very hard for me to deal with the loss. At times I thought I was going to just completely lose it, but family and friends like I have here have helped keep me going. Thank you all.

I look forward to seeing your "in memory of" when you have it finished.

I actually had a deal worked out with a friend to the tune of $600 cash/trade and dude flaked out on me, so I'm out all together. A friend put me on a good shop, and my wife is going to put up some cash next month to start my sleeve. Going to start with my bro, gone a year this past aug

I'm sorry to hear about all of the losses that made the artwork come to life.

My condolences Brette, Trojan Horse, derekb.... Wow.....

I have an Incan Hummingbird in memory of my dad who was killed after his plane crashed in AZ. Lived for two weeks afterwards but would have been a vegetable...

Such touching stories...

Thank you Lalayla.
So sorry for your loss of your father.
I lost my Dad when I was only 4 years old to a farming accident.
I never really knew him and only have vague memories of him, but growing up without him was hard to do.

Last night

Free Fallin'

I memory of dad and the life he lived. Also, the last skydiving video of him was over Oahu and with this song in the background. One song that will always remind me of him and his daredevil life.

I'm adding a small "silhouette plane" like it's finishing off the word "free" and small silhouette parachuter on "fallin"
