Honestly sometimes mutts make the best dogs. I used to have a rott mix named Diesel. He was an awesome guard dog and would play with kids. He was extremely smart. Wife made me give him to another home because the woman was home alone all the time and her husband wanted a good guard dog.

Still miss him, he was a goofy dog. He was probably one of the best and smartest dogs I've ever had.

Mine's a Shepherd/Rottweiler mix, he is defensive when my wife is home alone but when I'm home he loves everyone.

For my next dog I would love to have a bull terrier(I think that's what the target dog is) but they are normally 1500 and up. May just settle for a pound puppy or find me a blue Merle great Dane. Wife always wanted one and I love the Danes also.

You need a doggie DNA test!

And rots are the same. My grandpa had two rots while i was young, like 3 or 4 named Bear and Grizzly. Bith were as nice as they could be. I would climb on them try to ride them and they never harmed me. But they were also protective
^ yes! And any dog can be aggressive. It's all about how you train them.

A client of mine has a pit lab mix and she is as good as can be. She walks around with a ball in her mouth and goes grr grr.. I always say talk to me, and I mimic her.

Rottweilers are also very loving dogs they can be very protective. But so can any dog. The key with any dog is socialization at a young age.

Get them used to being around kids and other dogs. Golden Retrievers of all dogs have the deadliest bite.
