Man what is this world coming to?! No revolvers?! I might just have to start carrying my dads 357 magnum around lol! Dirty Harry style! And major points to the 1911! Beautiful gun I love the "beaver tail". I think that's what they call that. I went more for the usability with mine as I am aspiring to become a cop and mine is going to be in a retention holster when i get a security job so its gonna get a little beat up. however that gun is just sexy. Major props!

I'm live in california and my dad has a lot of guns. I have my own too but since I'm only 16 he keeps them in his safe. He gave me a 12 gauge and a 38 special and for my 18th he wants to buy me a 45. Can anyone tell me how I can do it to legally carry a pistol with me? Of course once I'm 18. I know my dad has his permit to carry a pistol but he can't have it loaded

You may need to be 21 to carry a pistol.

This thread is still weird to me, I have nothing Negative to say, and maybe cause my job is sort of Law Enforcement, so maybe that is why it's weird. Years ago, I purposely did not carry anything with me while I was riding my Motorcycle, cause the TEMPTATION was TOO strong and I believe that, if I had of had something on me, many, many times there would have been some serious injuries around town, and I would now still be in Jail. Just sayin,

I could not agree more I am a big hot head when it comes to road rage but I personally don't see things the same way when I am carrying. I don't see my weapon as available unless absolutely necessary. I think I can speak for all of us when I say it's a "have it not need it instead of need it not have it" Good thought.

I started carrying while I was a repo man. I still carry cause I get off work at 1:30-3:30am and work in an industrial park, and in the 8 years I've been there more then a few incidents have happened near my work. I've also taken the concealed carry class.

I used to have a ruger P90 .45. I loved it except it was too big to conceal and was costing me a little too much to shoot. that's why I went to a 9mm. Love those guns though!

You're going to have to look up your local laws. Here in Texas we consider your car/truck an extension of your home... At 18 we can carry a pistol in our car but not loaded or in reach of the driver. We must also be 21 to purchase a pistol but 18 to own. (has to be a gift). As for a shot gun you have to be 18 to have one in your truck and I have been told it can be loaded as long as the plug is in and you only have 4 shells. As for rifles you can carry them in reach but they can't be loaded. Mostly for poaching reasons... Hope this helps. And please don't quote me that's all Texas info and I am not 100 percent sure about these laws it's just what I go by.

Man I need to move to Texas then. Lol. Yeah I'm going to have to do some research. I know to have a permit for a concealed weapon is very hard to get here but I've never heard any info on just having one in your car at a younger age. I'll have to look into it. I always carry a knife in my car and fortunately when ever stuff happens I don't even remember I have it with me. So being stupid with it won't be a problem. So maybe in a few years I'll show my dad I'm "mature" enough to carry a gun with me in the car. Specially since I work in the outskirts of town late at night (11pm-3am) on weekends. Scary stuff sometimes. Lol

Cali is just not a gun loving state, however in every state (I believe) it is 21 to be able to conceal carry a pistol. Unsure about Texas and their extension of home law, Texas is a bunch of fun loving hippies!! Lol I wanna move to Texas!

I hear you "Ruthless", But I still pass on the idea, my son is the problem now, I actually had to give away a rifle, that idiot had left in the couch downstairs, I got two little girls running around the house and this idiot figures there is nothing wrong with leaving loaded guns around the house. I tell him he can get his own house and leave guns all over. He does not realize that, the Police will look at me first, if an incident happens, it's in Government records, that I have the skill and know how to operate ALL weapons, I can get out of it, but I will be harrassed like hell. So I choose to keep all firearms out of site.

In NC it's a felony to have fire arms left where a minor can get them. Here you sign something every time you purchase a gun saying you understand and agree, so there's no 'getting out of it'. My rifles and shotguns stay in the safe and my hand gun stays with me or the safe, NEVER under the couch cushion or whatever lol
