Yeah, that's one less California Special on the streets. It was a total loss. He went from a '99-'04 GT to this '11 CS/GT. That's a big leap in power. When I first got my '11 GT my best friend told me, "With great power comes great responsibility". I haven't heard how he's doing but as soon as I get an update, I'll post.

Re: My friend made the 6 O'clock news.

Crazy!

Here's a better link btw.

Four Vehicle Accident, Two Sent to the Hospital - KiiiTV3.com South Texas, Corpus Christi, Coastal Bend

So the whole time I was watching that video, I was thinking to myself "I really can't condone street racing, but it sounds like the old man's fault." Turns out it was, since they cited him for failure to yield!

Reason # 431 to not street race. It happens time, and time again!

---------- Post added at 06:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:52 PM ----------

Personally I think all 3 should loose driving privileges.

Yeah, also reason #3782346157623409578 to get 80 plus year-olds the **** off the road. This happened to my mom and totaled her Mustang. She was going 35MPH in her V6, you don't have to be street racing to get in a serious accident by a driver impaired by age or any other factors.

I can agree with that as well.

The woman that did this was over 80, driving an old four-door Cadillac and didn't stop for over a block ... in someone's front yard.

Holy crap! I hope everyone was okay.

This is what I would love to see happen.

70- 5 years only on the renew.
75- 5 years plus road test
80-3 years plus road, vision, and hearing.
90-1 year 6 months, and it should include all of the above.
94.5:-1 year plus all the above. Must not have had any at fault accidents where the damage exceeded $500.00
98+ 6 months and plus the above.

Everyone walked away ... thank God. If my mom had been more than a couple feet farther into the intersection we might be having a completely different conversation. I agree, more needs to be done about the "elderly driver problem." The shame is that no politician will support it, at the risk of losing the AARP vote

Street racing isn't always the smartest thing but it has been going on for 50yrs. From muscle cars of the 60's. But there is a place for it I think. On busy highways or city streets isn't the place. Most guys I know go to roads with no traffic late at night. Is it still smart. Not always as anything can still happen. Just like on a drag strip.

Also movies like fast and furious made it worse. All kinds of kids now think they can race everything and anywhere.

Glad to hear that everyone was okay...I will say though, you look at the mustang and how severe the damage is, and then how intact and secure the cabin is...disproves all the theories of our cars not being safe. This is one of many pics/stories I've seen/heard where mustangs are in bad accidents but the occupants walk away with bumps and bruises...they do very well in frontal collisions.
