Wow, the cams make such a difference.
It sounds awesome considering it's a divorced dual, no cats v6. All the years of endless "best exhaust for v6" threads on this site can be resolved by watching this video; along with other cammed v6 exhaust videos.

I skimmed through the comments and thought it hilarious when someone asked what HP he was pushing. (8 months ago) He replied "well now I'm making 300hp, but that's because I have a Cobra.."

Re: To all you v6 boys who want a nice sounding Exhaust...

Yah the 3.7L was tuned very well...the stock exhaust note is surprisingly good wot and in the upper rpms, compared to the older ohv v6's and SOHC v6's that were too high pitched and raspy, no matter what exhaust you had.

The only benefit for us 3.8 guys is the pushrod design, 1 cam b*tches!

My favorite part about this video...watch the exhaust tips at the beginning of the video...they are shaking in sync with the lope of the cam...the whole engine is probably rocking in that engine bay...badass!

im a gt guy.but i see plenty of reasons to buy a v6 : cheaper insurance, gas milage, its a mustang in general, some people dont need fast cars. plus now adays the v6s actually have a little power.i belive ford actually sells more v6s than gts

I understand all that. To me though you buy a mustang for history along with the sound and.....i guess the symbolism. If gas mileage is your concern many other cars out the get better. Not talk down to the sixer crowd, dont take me wrong here. I dont know, different strokes, i guess.

I agree. I buy a mustang for the raw muscle. But I am just saying I see the reasoning. Also another reason is they are cheaper.

Well, you could ask any person with a GT why they didn't buy a GT500? But I don't really consider myself a mustang enthusiast. I like a lot of cars. For me, I wanted a new car. Didn't want used. And I was looking at a lot of cars not just mustangs. Out of the mustangs it was either a premium v6 w/ a couple thousand $$ left over for mods or a base gt w/ no money left for mods. I cared more about appearance/comfort then going fast. Wasn't planning on racing my car but wanted something that was decently fast and the 300hp v6 fit the bill. Plus, the new V6's sound amazing imo. But since buying it I've definitely gotten more into stangs and performance and you can get more then enough power out of these sixes then I'll ever need. I love my six! And I never regretted my decision. It looks amazing, sounds amazing, I get sooo many compliments and it's a great car to drive in. Is that a good enough reason??

Better gas mileage shouldnt be a reason to buy a sixxer. most gts get better gas mileage than sixxers anyways with the exception of the 11s and up. If you want a fuel effecient car go buy a Prius.

i was specifically talking about the new ones. 300 hp and 32 mpgs seems like a nice combo to me. now me personally i have an escort for my mpg car. my fox is my weekend warrior. and my 3 row seating explorer is the family ride. so my needs are all vehicle specific.

It's all in the cam...every v6 with an agressive, lopey cam sounds like this, good at idle, but once you get on it the raspy v6 pitch comes out

To mi03svt, I bought my v6 when I was 15...I really wanted a 99-02 Ws6, I didn't even really know about/care for mustangs that much, I just knew they were competition for the GM's. Well after GM axed the camaro/firebird in 02 every tom, dick an dick wanted a fortune for their Trans Am, so they were out

I had a 60mi round trip to school...I needed/wanted an affordable yet reliable sports car. I couldn't stand the v6 camaros/firebirds so I ended up looking at stangs. Unfortunately insurance was rediculous for a v8 anything, so the v6 mustang was the clear choice, and that bastard was still expensive.

I can't count the number of times I was going to sell my v6 and buy a GT/v8. It's natural for us v6 owners to ditch the six and upgrade.

But now I'm 22, it was my first car, first mustang, had it for 7 years, got a ton of money, sweat and time into her, what can I say sentimental value goes a long way lol.

I'll keep this one around and get a v8 shortly...I got plenty of time

As said before gas mileage insurance and more.
Why don't we buy other cars because we don't want other cars we want a mustang
Ford made a sixer for a reason.
We can mod our car to make it perform. And keep our gas mileage and our insurance at a fair price.

Insurance and gas mileage aren't as bad as you think. I went from a 02 v6 to the cobra and the same amount of coverage was only like 10 bucks a month more. Can still average high 20s on the highway if I try.

the reason i own a v6 is because i bought it for 500 bucks from my brother in law. i always wanted a stang and i couldnt pass on it. it looked like crap when i first got it but i managed to make it look decent. but if i had money to go out and buy a car.. i would totally look for a v8
