IMO the flush mount hood pins are the only way to go. I'm not a fan of stick on hood pins. They may as well sell those in the ricer isle at PepBoys

+1 on the flush hood pins. Though, classic hod pin setups look great on classic Mustangs, like 1964.5 - 1972.

There is a guy in town with an azure blue Mach 1 and I think of you every time I see it its probably the one I went and looked at, at the dealership a couple months ago, too bad it was a auto or I woulda got it.

Yes you are right about that. Agree 100%.

Placement can take away from how good it looks too.
But if you spend the money for the 'appearance hood pin set', why not go all the way and do it right? I won't put anything on my car that's not functional.

There's one here in town. 80,000 miles. Dealer wants $14,200. Blah!! And it's auto. Nice Mach, but it's been molested. And wants waaaaaayyyy too much for it.

Definitely. I'm not sure who came up with the fake hood pin set, but I guess they were import drivers.

The one here had around 100k+/- auto and they only wanted like $6800. It wasn't perfect but still a nice car, just couldn't live with myself if bought an auto

I agree. If it were functional, it would be totally different. If that wasnt the stock good and it was actually a ram air or something then, it's a different story. Might as well put a little bobbing doll on the dash wearing a hula skirt.

I cannot understand how one thinks hood pins are cool. I completely respect the hood pin for its function, but (this is specifically towards fake hood pins) why someone would want to put a hood pin on WITHOUT its function escapes me.

I am not trying to offend people who like it, I find often I offend people on here (like manual vs auto and pillar gauges) when I am just expressing myself, if people want little sticks with strings attached to their hood that are on with stickers, go for it... it's your car, if you are happy with it, then that should be good enough.

But without the need (or potential future need) of this equipment, I just do not understand it.

Haha yeah totally.

I had a set of functional pin style hood pins for this crap hood I had on my old fox body. They were literally the only thing that held the hood down because the latch didn't work right with the hood. Some a hole took them out one night when I had it parked on the street at a buddy's house and needless to say, I didn't notice they were gone until my hood flew off on the highway on the way home.

I didn't even turn back for it lol

No doubt. I'd love to see all 111 in one place. See what they have done to them.
