hey guys, i need some help. i just tried dipping my decklid, it came out perfect, i used 5 coats, but when i tried peeling off the tape from masking everything off, it ruined everything. how do you guys manage to get a clean edge on decklids or just large areas in general? id like to do it again instead of spending 35-40 bucks to buy a black out panel from AM

Peel it before it dries while it's still wet

Do 2 or 3 coats but wait 1 min between coats and you should be good. Also don't do it in direct sunlight or it will dry faster

You could also let it fully dry then use a razor blade to get a perfect line. It gives you a little more play with masking. And if you go slow and light enough it won't mess with ur paint

I'd be scared to do it too lol. It's possible but i wouldn't trust myself that much. To much it'd be worth it to just peel it off and re do it lol. Besides more practice with the stuff couldn't hurt

I considering doing mine just to get that matte black look, even though it is already a black car.

I taped off the rest of the wing. Then used a razor to get the curve right.
