'13 Camaro 1LE dusted by 4.46 seconds the BOSS Laguna Seca at VIR

Guys I readed that the '13 Camaro SS w/. the 1LE handling package, dusted the BOSS Laguna at VIR, by 2:58:34 seconds. That Camaro cost about $6K less, is only the SS with some handling package (that cost about 3K).
What can we do to the 5.0 Mustang to be competitive in the track against the 1LE?

Dude, I know you're excited to ring in the news but, did you have to post this on every Mustang forum? Makes you seem like a troll.

The 0-60 time for the new Camaro is 4.5 seconds.

Enough said. =)

Comparison, for those that don't know that the Mustang GT can go from 0-60 in 4.3 seconds:

GM seems to post time on courses that no one else can achieve. Wait till a 3rd party gets ahold for comparison then we'll see what happens

I read I think in car and driver that the Shelby beat LR1 in every test except the road course! But only beat it by just over 2 sec!! I'm sure if you have such a suspension set up like that in the Shelby, nothing could beat it

Maybe a lesson learned from this, is that a non staggered setup, will provide a more balanced handling at the track.

Re: '13 Camaro 1LE dusted by 4.46 seconds the BOSS Laguna Seca at VIR

It's funny how they compare it to the Boss, as if it were a really good deal. The GT has more power also. If we're going to compare price tags, their slower car costs more.

First, all race tracks are different. Second, most consumers won't be racing on a curved track. They'll be driving it on roads. Will that better suspension and handling matter on a straight highway? I seriously doubt the difference will be noticed much. Will Mustangs be passing them? You bet. Will the Camaro owner feel salty for paying $2k - $3k more for a car that gets passed all the time? I'm thinking they will.

Feel free to be excited about a more expensive car that did ok on a curvy track. There are plenty of long and straight roads where I live. =)

Re: '13 Camaro 1LE dusted by 4.46 seconds the BOSS Laguna Seca at VIR

I don't really care. Competition is great. Lets see these guys slug it out; makes a better product for you and me. My BBP GT has decent enough handling for me, good power and is a quiet relaxed DD. I'm not in the market for Boss 302s etc. but, the trickle down benefits come to other as well, like the BBP brakes that trickled down from the GT500.
