Re: Post pics of your first car!

This is not the actual car and mine sure didn't look near this good, but it has the same color paint and hubcaps that mine did.

I was 13 and I worked all summer long hauling hay for my stepfather in exchange for his promise to buy me a car at the end of the summer.

At the end of that summer and around 3000 hay bales later I got a 1955 Chevy 4-door sedan like the one above, that I soon found out had only cost him a whole whopping $75. To say I was mad when I found out would be the understatement of my young life to that point. However since I was only 13, I sucked it up, got it running and drove it all over my grandmother's farm. When hot rodding it, cutting donuts and learning how to do power slides in the pastures it would get hot and vapor lock. Wasn't nothing to do but raise the hood and wait till it cooled off. I learned some creative cussing that year too.

The worst part of it all you ask.........
I didn't even like Chevrolet's, but my first two vehicles were Chevys nonetheless.

You don't see those too often anymore. Would they call those a "boot box" instead of a shoe box? Yukyukyuk!

Possibly so. I called it lots of things before I relinquished ownership to a more appreciative owner.

If it counts, the 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 I drive (except my parents bough it for me to drive but are not letting me keep it after HS)... But technically I've never had a 1st car.

Kid at my school had one that he was restoring, then he wrecked it, imagine that. I almost bought a 300zx turbo, but not the good one, the on before 1990 to have as a summer project car.

Yes don't we all! I love foxes too. This is my first sn95. It resembles the fox in how it drives, though it handles better because of the Mach1 options. I hope to get another fox someday.
