I blew up the 306 and had a Boss block 347 built for it. Between
engine builder, Tuners, just had a lot of bad luck with it. Finally
got it done without the Strim on it made 340whp na with 8.5:1
compression. Right when I was going to start putting together
a turbo kit, I start hearing a lifter ticking. Took it to the shop
and he says "i don't hear anything, sounds good to me"
about a week later I loose about 1/2 my oil psi. Pulled the intake
and what do I see?? A dogbone was missing one side and the lifter
had turned in the bore causing it to pretty much disintegrate.
Eveybody I have talked to says they have never seen a dogbone break.
For awhile I was convinced it was installed that way.
By this time I was so fed up and frustrated, just couldn't deal
with it anymore and started parting it out. One of my biggest
regrets, it should have been parked with the cover on it. A
month of two and I would have got it back up and running.
