Fall Shoot | New Mods

Well, it's about time to put the stock wheels back on. Did a final round of birthday mods and will be putting the car in winter-mode. I decided to do a quick photoshoot today. I have one more part to install tomorrow, which is the new RTR Decklid Panel they released this past week. Thing is going to be super hard to install, you have to cut a 5" hole in the trunk lid where the Faux Gas Cap was.

I will update this thread as I install the other parts for those curious what they look like.

New Parts:
Shelby GT500 Style Wing pre-painted from AM
5.0 Floor Mats (will get pics tomorrow)

I am interested to see what that decklid panel looks like with the 2010-2012 tail lights.

I went through a roller coaster of emotion reading that reply.

Thanks, much appreciated. Silver was all I could afford at the time I was ready to purchase and I just couldn't wait. I really wanted some of that grabber blue action

Well, did the install today. Not bad really. Looks 10x better. I'm definitely going to be tinting the tail lights now.

The car in my buddies body shop:

Hole cut with an air body saw. Drilled a starter hole with a bit then used the air body saw to cut out the bump leaving a small ridge left. We reamed out the hole for a smooth finish with a reaming air tool.

Reamed out, I signed the inside for fun :p

Applied commercial strength rust proof gel as a primer around the cut.

Added some additional 3M to the back of the decklid. I plan to never take it off.

Added black vinyl that came with the RTR decklid to the edges for a smooth finish even when the trunk is open

Why did you cut the deck lid emblem out is that the only way to remove it? I've been trying to pry at mine here and there with no luck, cutting the only way?

It comes off without cutting.

It requires a ton of pressure and has a ton of strong 3M tape on the back. I stuck a large flat head behind it with a towel around it and pulled with my full body weight (220lbs). Its a pain in the ***.

Once its off there is a 1/2" "bump" in the metal body where the badge secures. The panel will not sit flush without cutting that "bump" out.

They really had to put bump there, not cool. I had been trying to debage the 5.0. No one wants to go heads up anymore when they see the 5.0 badge even blacked out they can see it.
