No FOP plate for that reason just a subtle Thin Blue Line badge

Had the blue light behind me last night. Hit the corner hard spun the car sideways just a little bit didn't know the car that was coming was a cop. He slammed on brakes and hit the blue lights but for some reason didn't turn around. May have been because he had a headlight out himself.

Imo people with fop insignia should be given more tickets than the average driver. Thin blue line is a memorial to fallen officers, not a get off free sticker.

More often than not the vehicles I see driving like morons have one or both

Going to the game with brother and his wife. She was in the back with the seats folded down taking a nap halfway in the trunk with her jacket over her. Cop gives me crap about my tint and noticed her in trunk, passed out. His hand quickly covers his gun and asks if she was alright! By that time she wakes up and his hand comes off his gun! Anyhow he tested tint and I was borderline passing...

Well I hope that was directed at someone else because I never inferred anything about it being some means to get off anything and me and my wife are not morons. My wife drives the Shelby too and she is an active police officer as are many of our family and friends. My wife has had to attend a police funeral before and it is a serious sobering experience which is not to be taken lightly. The thin blue line stickers on all of our vehicles symbolize our support for all law enforcement officers both fallen and alive. Perhaps if someone is displaying one and has no law enforcement connection, then their intent is different.

People only get tickets for breaking the law - not for displaying a thin blue line symbol or FOP tag. My wife and I have to obey the law just like anyone else. Just not sure what your beef is but it is not appropriate. We do NOT get or expect special treatment....

It wasn't directed at any person. Just a statement of my observations.

Most of the general public does not know the meaning of the thin blue line.

I've met too many people that honestly believe they deserve preferential treatment because of who they know or are related to. I have connections but have never used them, when I break the law I take responsibility.

Well I apologize if I got a bit heavy there. To be honest my wife meets members of the public every day that call the "Do you know who I am" line - so it's a very common reaction! People will say all sorts of thing to try to get off a ticket. The absolute best thing to do is be honest and respectful to the officer and hopefully he/she will be fair back. But the law applies to everyone and if anything, cops are held to a higher standard.

I live in a small town and close community and the buddy system and under the table system are still very much alive and well with city cops. Only time I expect a fair shake in either direction is with highway patrol.
