Added HIDs to my headlights

I was runnning them in just the fog lights because i use to have blackout cover for the headlights but they broke so I spent the 30 bucks and installed them. They are a little to blue for my taste 8000k but that's what I got in the fogs and it's not that blue. Oh well here's a side by side

I got them from from eBay seller xentechid, It took two days from Cali to IL, so good product and fast shipping

which you've stated on every HID thread. I'm sure they understand it by now. HIDs are illegal along with catless exhausts, and really dark tint. However i don't see many guys giving any of it up for legality sake

here's the brand i always run. I've tried an ebay kit and vvme but i didn't like the products with either..the ebay kit flickered after a year, and the vvme kit never wanted to cold start lol. as of right now i've run my DDM kits on my last two stangs without issue.

I've been rocking the eBay kit for a long time and all my friends, the flickering issue is a older car issue more then the ballast issue

digital ballasts shouldn't have that issue even on an older car...a standard analog ballast id understand unless you run a error eliminator.

I know early 90s cars flicker when you first start em up cause it doesn't get a steady signal or bad grounds, and have to use a relay kit, but this was 6 years ago and I can't even remember the kit, it was in my buddy's car but he installed a relay and it worked after that.

But the kit I have on my mustang Xentec has been nothing but awesome, I have 3000k bulbs I might put in the fogs

your lights look good man...the color difference has to be because of your tinted headlight covers.

I had 6000k on my old f150...they looked amazing with only a tint of blue. My cousin and a couple of his friends ran the more blue 8000k...all from vvme without issue and they are several years old. and their customer service was pretty damn solid...i would recommend them any time...they sent me a complete replacement kit because i was having a flickering issue and that just turned out to be a grounding problem i fixed with a wire brush.

Anyone know the brightest halogen bulbs you can get with a color temp around 6000K? I'd do the HID conversion but don't feel like doing a housing change, cops around my city are dicks.

so don't change your housing...just get a 35w kit in a 5k....it'll be fine and you shouldn't get hassled..that 5k would be what you'd see in oem hid's as far as color temp...aim them properly and well you know the rest...profit lol

if your nerves get the best of you sylvania zxe bulbs claim to be the brightest non hid bulb on market, but they cost the same as an HID kit

Thanks man, what would be the advantage of high intensity discharge over halogens with equivalent color temperature? Just lighting projection?

These are the brightest I've found in the halogen world via google. The ZXE bulbs by Sylvania are only 4200K... That's still yellow/whiteish to me.

zxe said they are the brightest not the blueset....being 4200k means they are pure white. to you eye a bluer tint may appear whiter but it is in fact not.

so here's the advantage of HID over halogen/zenon....a standard halogen bulb on average rates at 700 lumens...a higher end zenon bulb (i.e. zxe) rates at 900 lumens....a standard 35w 5k hid kit on average rates 2500 lumens...and a 55w 5k hidd kit on average rates 4000k+ lumens.

No kidding?! Been schooooled! That's good stuff so 35w kit eh? Conservative enough not to get jacked with. I'll look into it for sure tonight. All my driving is at night just about so that'll be nice.

6k is NOT white....it has a blue tinge in it...your eyes see a bright white but not a pure white...sit in the seat of a car with a 5k and then do the same with a 6k and you'll understand. i have 6k's in my current car and 5k's in my last and i can tell a huge difference in the white vs blue tinge. my next set will be 5k again because i want it white white not blue tinge lol

then again trying to explain color spectrums and visible light usually ends with people at each others throats, confused, or a mixture of both so if calling a 6k white works for you go for it lol

HAHA I understand man, I looked at some folks that took shots of their HID kits with 6000k vs 5000k and I like the blue tint a little more. I just picked up this kit from VVME with 6000K, I suppose if I don't like the bulbs I can just grab some 5000K.

Haha not trying to argue or anything but it seems as though you're right in a sense that they do have a blue tinge but maybe it's just mine but after driving around for a while with them on it seems they warm up and look pretty dang white haha also trust me I know what you mean some people do get so worked up over arguing over what dang color the light is but something else I have noticed is in cars like Nissan infinities and stuff when they first turn on their stock hids they sort of blue and warm up to be white so that's kind of where I get the idea of 6000k white also

Real hid, not to be a jerk but this is what it should look like. You get what you pay for

Here is what happens when you put hid bulbs in non projector housings...you get light that is not ...projected.....it just goes everywhere. And blinds everyone else.

Psst...they don't care if you are blinded. Be careful as some ppl here have a problem with opinions.

As long as it looks cool they are happy.
