Yea I'm alright, just a little bit upset. I was the only one in the car and I even drove into the oncoming traffic lane to hopefully miss the deer. I don't even know what to do as far as what to tell the insurance company, and if it'll 've covered by ford since it's still under warranty.

---------- Post added at 01:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:56 AM ----------

And when I pulled off the road to check out the damage on my car some ******* picked the deer up, threw it in the bed of his truck, and left. Haha kinda funny cause where I live, I woulda done the same thing. Luckily I have some fur and some blood on my car.

Take pics of everything. Bag the hair after you take pics of it. This is not a warranty claim at all. Call your insurance first chance you get.

Trees and deer are covered under your insurance, they can tell it was a deer... Doesn't look too bad, good luck on the repair!

+1... on taking pics of the hair. When I hit a dear many years ago the insurance company wanted the hair if there was some on the car. There was, but there was also a dead dear in the ditch to photograph as well. Looks like that dear may have caused close to $3000 in damage for you. When I hit some ice and bumped a guard rail. They replaced the fender, re-striped and painted the bumper, hood and door to blend it all and the cost was $2500. My damage was similar to yours.

Does anybody know how long I have y report it to the insurance company?

---------- Post added at 08:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:17 AM ----------

And it's covered under comprehensive damage with a $500 deductible. I just want to talk to some people before I report it to the insurance company, that way I know what to say bad how to say it.

Why? Unless the deer had insurance, of course.

Sometimes Glass is, it just depends on your insurance company. but I'm pretty sure everything else is. I think the only reason glass is is because sometimes its not actually even covered under comp coverage, it has a separate coverage with some companies.

Not surprising.... Typical MOPAR... Heavy, slow, and the handling sucks.

Just tell them you hit a deer. I recently left mine in gear and it rolled into a tree. That's exactly what I told them. Do your research on collision shops in your area.

I spoke to my insurance company and they said the earliest I could get my car checked out is Wednesday at 8am. And the rental could be $50 a day.

Ouch! Having lived in areas with HIGH amounts of deer hits, I am glad it wasn't WAY worse! I can sympathize as my 2013 was in an accident as well and is in the shop still (however I can't blame mine on anyone but myself) Hope it all comes out well
