New Hair do

Final piece to this GT's puzzle. Sure purests will hate it, but they don't own it or drive it .

Damn thats nice looking car... I normally hate stripes, but i love that design. Ive actually been thinking about putting the same one in flat black on mine.

Did you install it yourself? How bad was it getting everything lined up?

I like the stripes. Just wouldn't personally put "Boss 302" on a GT. Kinda like putting an SI logo on a Honda DX, or GT on a v6.

This car has an entire OEM Boss 302 interior, Recaro seats front and back, dash panels, 180 speedo, steering wheel, e brake, along with the boss intake, 90mm throttle body and upgraded suspension, clutch lines, oil cooler, trans cooler, so it has enough Boss parts that it is not just a GT with stickers on it. But hey, if they made a Sterling Metallic Grey Boss, we would'a considered it. This was a good way to get exactly what we wanted in a car. Don't see too many people modding Bosses, and we wanted to mod the hell outta of it so we went this route. Its my son's car and if you ask him, he is the first to say it is a GT that we bought salvage parts from two wrecked Bosses to make "his Boss"

NO...I wanted to do it, but my son said NOT A CHANCE. After watching the pro do it, no way would I have been able to pull it off. It took him 3 hrs to install, but it is perfect with no bubbles what so ever. The flat black looks awesome on the SMG and would look awesome on a black car as well. He just did a Shelby that he had pics of that was black on black. It was awesome.

Very nice. Not sure I would do the boss 302 either but it sounds reasonable in this case. My only change would be black hood vents instead of the carbon fiber.

Gotcha. That pic made me stop debating about getting a stripe kit, and i just ordered the matte black super snake stripe for mine. My buddy and i are going to give the install a shot next weekend.

I wouldn't worry about the 302 stripe. The only thing not boss is the vin#. Nicely done! Hell look at all the 69 z28s on the road. There's 3x as many now than were ever produced.

Dude you pulled it off. I think the actual color scheme is what did it. I'm pretty sure anything else I would have hated

The vin, the motor, and the suspension.

I actually love it :p that color combo is sick! Only thing I would do different is the stripe. I would've went with a 100% accurate boss 302 stripe. That one is a little off, mainly the font. And I know copyright issues but I know ppl that would do it lol

I guess it's different now. When I was in High School, peeps got beat down for being posers. Times are a changing.
Troy
Again, looks sharp, just the actual Boss logo seems distasteful. If u wanted a Boss, shoulda bought a Boss. If u like the look, great mimic the look. But don't call it something it is not with its own logo.
I have a buddy that did a ton of work on his '05 stang to make a cobra clone with emblems and all. He gets so much crap from everyone...well, everyone that can actually tell the diff. The rest thinks its an awesome cobra.
In the end, yes it's ur ride and we can all do whatever we like! Thinkin about Dub Deuce spinners on mine...

LOL...poser this "poser" car would make your GBGT see nothing but tail lights
There is a thing called a "theme" where you stick to if you want a cohesive car. This car has a carbon fiber theme in which nearly every black plastic piece has been switched out with real carbon fiber. Since the car has the entire OEM Boss interior with all of the Boss badging, it would be MORE AWKWARD to confuse it with GT here, Boss there so in keeping to a THEME, we Bossed everything out. Is it a Boss? no, never claimed that, but it has enough Boss equipment to stick to that theme, so be a hater from behind

What suspension do you have.
Eibach Pro Plus lowering 1.5, Eibach Pro Street S Coilovers, Eibach Panhard Bar, Sway bars,
Whiteline Adjustable LCA's with UPR Relocation Brackets. Steeda adjustable UCA

surprised that even with the one piece Aluminum Drive Shaft, it is still quiet and no vibrations. The suspension is stiff and you feel the road, but it corners like a dream and doesnt plow at all.

They are OEM stripes! One of my close friends who OWNS the largest Ford dealership here in ATX got them for me. LOL

Here are some better pics. Need to get it on a lift sometime and photograph the underside. It is as or more impressive than the top side:
