Lol. A dealership here in Japan is selling an Eleanor GT-500 look a like. Basic 3.7 with all the upgraded badging and aero body but absolutely none of it functional.

Well then the dealership has lost their minds.

I have nothing against the V-6 but it's just wrong to dress it up like that.

Yeah, not cool. Car looks amazing but MUST loose the cobra badges. Totally wrong to put the cobra badges on it. Shame!

They could have at least SUPERCHARGED it and bring the power up to respectable levels.

Not a bad looking car, hopefully they don't have two fart cans hanging off the back of it. Lol

It had stock exhaust going out the back only at a 90 degree angle pointing straight down. It has fake side exhaust for show purposes but when I looked underneath it wasn't hooked up to anything.

No performance improvements at all. Purely cosmetic. I popped the hood and started laughing. The dealer kept saying "fake Eleanor". Lol

Most Japanese people wouldn't know the difference and it does look really good. It's easy for us to say it has no appeal because for the same money you can almost have the real deal out here. I know what you guys are saying though. It looks good, I just don't want any of it lol

The only problem with this car is that since no one over there would likely know the difference it will just add to the stereotype that American cars are turds. Heavy, slow, polished turds. Sad.

That being said.. The car does look great in that picture.

Ohh it looked great in person until I started poking around. Taxes and insurance get crazy expensive with big imports (non-Japanese cars in this case) so the idea is to give a sophisticated look at a reduced cost and lack of performance. They were talking double the price of this one to get a "real" GT-500. That would be like $90,000.

That 3.7L Cyclone still smokes those imports though, they wouldn't be able to handle a real Eleanor

Many mods are great for the 3.7 and it has none? Oh well.

Trust me everything about this car was base model. Even the dealer admitted to that.

The dealer tried explaining that the GT-500E meant exterior mods only to look like a GT-500. He stated the car was shipped to Japan as a base V-6 then they shipped it back to a location in California to do the exterior mods and shipped it back placard as such.

Fakes are common in Japan. I've even seen a 4.6 Super Snake. It was a really bad representation of it though.
