My GoPro Time-Lapse Surveillance for this Snowstorm!

I recently got a GoPro Hero4 and decided to put it to work! After some setting up, I set it to record a time-lapse, snapping every 10seconds. Here's the video, followed by a couple pics!

Alright now i gotta ask you, I have been asking this to everyone i see with a 4 Silver.... How is the usual battery life of the 4 Silver when not plugged in? I have a Hero 3 Black but want to get another and i'm looking at the 4 Silver since it has the touch screen, but i'm worried about battery life if its not charged simultaneously.

Give me some examples you'd like me to test and I'll get you those results. I have a 64gb microsd in it at the moment. I can see if it fills that up first or if the battery dies when recording 4K quality non stop.

Shoot some scenarios. I've only ever used it for short videos and haven't killed the battery in one go yet.

Can you put it on 1080p @ 60fps and run it till it dies? That's what I usually shoot at on my Hero 3.

Okay. 1080p 60fps wide.

Full battery, pressed play at 19:32 EST.

Soccerluvr4,

From the GoPro website - 1080p 60fps should last 1h40m.

My result - 1080p 60fps - 1h55m.

I'm sure it'll decrease with time, the more this battery gets used.

Not a bad result. I only paid $240 for my Hero 4 Silver. I was gifted a 40% off coupon

Want to share that coupon? lol

And not terrible. While shooting does the screen turn itself off if you don't press it for a while? 2 hours is doable, can just have other batteries charged and ready.

You can adjust pretty much every setting on this camera.

I have it adjusted to turn the screen off after 1 minute of no interaction with it (while shooting too). There is also a small button on the bottom left corner, next to the screen, to turn off the screen.

I've also disabled the LEDs, which I assume must allow the batteries to last a few more minutes. No WiFi/Record flashing lights for me!

I have 3 batteries right now. I bought the dual charger (comes with a battery) + an extra battery.

I wish I could share the coupon. It was a one time use coupon
