Paint's finally done! (no 56k)

Finally got the stang back and had to wait almost 2 weeks for a nice day to take pics. The light coming through the trees was a PITA trying to get a good pic. I was gonna get some close ups of the detail, since I have yet to get 1 pic that actually brings out the little highlights and stuff that you can see in person, but just couldn;t get the settings right. I bought waaaaay more camera than I am cabaple of operating. lol

Re: Paint's finally done! (no 56k)

too much IMO. front views look like its shadowing from trees and light. side views made the rear look dirty, like dirt on a black car. Almost looked like someone put black primer over gloss black in the front. i was heavily confused at first.

rear view with just seeing the two tone (black top and grey metallic) looks freaking awesome. IMO it would have looked insanely sick with a black top and grey body with black accents (rims, lights, etc) but the black ghost flames (or whatever they are supposed to be) just overkill imo.

i agree with thomas, little over kill on the front, the backview does look nice though with the two tone.

you should try to get some direct sunlight pictures, itll show off the contrast between the two colors better.

Looks mean! A little confusing but original. If you like it, that is all that matters. Where'd you get the front grill btw?

Re: Paint's finally done! (no 56k)

FWIW, the back bumper is just an aftermarket, they dont come with the letters, i prefer them over the ford bumpers for that reason and the fitment is sometimes even better than OEM,

i like the black roof line, it would look sick with just the cowl painted black on the hood

the flames look better in person when you can take it in as a whole, looking from the front in the pic sucks but when you are standing in front of it, it makes sense, it also looks better from the side than the front because it is easier to understand.

A simple two tone with the black on top would have looked better in my opinion, but whatever cranks your tractor.

Re: Paint's finally done! (no 56k)

tha flames down the side look like a group of bees or wasps flyin. kinda dark in the pics, might look better in the sunlight. looks like a slick paint job nonetheless. but i'm more of a simple look. the black and silver 2 tone would have been sick. but it's also not my car, looks like it came out nice though. as long as u are happy, that's all that matters.

Re: Paint's finally done! (no 56k)

Oh, and thanks for all the compliments guys. Like I said, it's super hard to get good pics of the detail, espescially since the weather has completely sucked. I'm hoping to have it ready to enter Midnight Fantasies on Sept 6th with or without the eaton installed.

I always end up with a comment on the house lol

It's not my house, not even close, it's the alumni Center at ULL where I went to college.

Looks good. A little over done for my taste, but I respect the work put into it. BTW it almost looks like a tornado.

Well, it's over, I was rear-ended saturday night as I was turning in to my neighborhood. Dropped it off at the body shop today to get the whole rear end redone. Gonna be getting a new gas tank as well so i'll go ahead and order the Termi tank.

Re: Paint's finally done! (no 56k)

It's kinda hard for you to rear end me when you can't keep up lol

The tint doesn't have any effect on the situation since the law only states that taillights must "emit a red light" and center one on the trunk isn't tinted, and it was a red light at an intersection where I was already stopped.

I didn't notice the real damage until it was on the tow truck. One of the tank straps is almost broken, and the gas tank was shoved up into the spare tire well. I believe the hat is damaged in some way. I went to crank it up to move it for the flatbed and the CEL for having a loose gas cap came on, so there is a puncture somewhere in the tank, and the seams are mangled up along with a very obvious bend through the entire tank from the strap having so much tension on it. There is a puncture in the plastic tank guard thing, but i can't tell if it went all the way through, and I've already refused to allow it to be repaired, I'm demanding that it gets replaced.

I'm going to put a termi rear on it and smooth out all the letters this time, I'm debating on wether or not to install the lightweight aluminum bumper reinforcement, it drops 22lbs, but I don't think it's the best place to drop weight.

Re: Paint's finally done! (no 56k)

hahaha, can't keep up? my daily driver hemi on 22's was faster than your car. if i raced you with my car, i would have to rear end you just so you could go faster than 14's.

Re: Paint's finally done! (no 56k)

If i can ever actually be allowed to drive my car again without someone destroying it for me, then we'll have to see what that hemi can do, since the SRT-8's can't seem to hang with it.

And let me FINALLY get some of the really good performance stuff finished and then we'll have us a little drivers race. Just don't expect it to be any time soon lol
