Big Ole Truck at Work

Got to work yesterday and we had a big....no wait....BIG truck there making a delivery!!! Drove down from the Detroit area over 3-1/2 days.

204 feet long with 78 wheels!!! Holy cow!
All I had was my iPhone to get pics, so sorry for the quality:

Did a VERY quick merge on these three:

The rear section has an engine and driver compartment. The front of the rear section is steerable for making tight turns. Impressive engineering in this thing for sure!

Here is the company's website; looks like this was one of the smaller trucks!!!
Arrived and left with a two state trooper escort.

BTW...HERE is the delivery company's website with pics of their big trucks!

Re: Big Ole Truck at Work

It was amazing to watch it leave the parking lot; the rear section kept going straight as the front had made the 90 degree turn. It looked like a snake going around the corner-the rear didn't track across the corner like regular semi's do, it went around the corner like a separate vehicle.

Make any sense at all??

The company I work for bought a machine to cold form parts out of (up to) 1-1/4 inch diameter steel rod.

Machine weighed 380,000 pounds!

wow....the truck and machine are both impressive. Hopefully he didn't take any toll roads, they charge per axle haha
