Get a spair set of tail pipes, your gonna need them in a bout 3-6months...we had a set on our 2000v6 and they rusted out on the tail pipes, and had to get another set of stainless steel gt tails welded on in there place.

MAC is best known for there poor quality of metals...but the exhaust does sound good non the less!

Yes, the new MAC systems all come with polished stainless steel tips! No more rusting.

Plus the new coating is better. MAC really has improved the quality of the system.

I bought mine a few years back because I needed the floor hump out of a Volare to convert my Diplomat over to four speed. The yard wanted $75 for it if they removed it (with a torch). $40 if I removed it. So I bought a new tool. It's come in handy since then.

mac and h pipes

say, I am considering buying the same MAC cat back system for my 2000 v6. How loud is that exhaust system because I personally dont like it when it is too obnoxiously loud.
Also, an h pipe goes from the headers to the cat back right? and do cat back exhausts work with the stock y pipe or a custom h pipe?
(I am in the process of learning about all this stuff 2: )

Thanks

Yes the h pipe will run from the headers to the cats, you can get one with cats or no cats(offroad) or you can get a pace setter adapter where you have to cut the stock y pipe and bolt/weld it on, and you get a h pipe. you can get a kit that is used with the stock y pipe, or you can get a kit that is used with an h pipe. Its not really loud unless you step into the throttle, but not obnoxious, definately aggressive, but just a good rumble with normal driving

:yup: thats exactly what i did. i had the y pipe set up, then got an h pipe, all they had to do was add some pipe between the h pipe and mufflers. and your question on headers... Its really not worth a whole lot maybe a few HP, and a little throatier exhaust note, untill you get more mods, like cam, blower, etc.
