side scoop question

What determined whether your car came with these side scoops

http://www.stickit2u.com/store/media/Cobra_Side.gif

or these ones

Was it year? I can't seem to figure it out. It seems completely random to me.

These are Mach 1s, GTs, Cobras. The changed them one year to all be that kind.

These are '99 style scoops.

IMO it looks cleaner because it sits flush with the door, instead of having that 1.5" gap,

I do believe Tony's came with his car from Deerborn, Mi aka Ford Plant!

Most likely they are 3M and a few plastic 1 time use screws from factory that they like to use!
