ported vs. unported

I have a 10" sub in my trunk, 800 watts, pushed by a 700 watt amp... and I think I want to port it. I have two boxes that fit it, so if I mess up, I have the other one I can resort to. What I need to know is, how big of hole(s)?... and PVC pipe... how long of pipe do I need? What sort of glue? I was hoping for like 2 - 1" diameter holes in the face of the box... but I don't know about placement, if it matters or not. I want to optimize hit power, but also have 'standing bass' power... anyone have some ideas? The box is shaped like a triangle from the side, if that helps.

Re: ported vs. unported

If you still need help you can goto this website. It has handy calculators I use whenever I build my speaker boxes. One for enclosure volume, whether your speaker is best suited for sealed or ported action, and a port calc as well.
