Paint opinions needed - photoshop too maybe

Ok, I need to paint the underside of my hood as it was not finished by ford originally. As such, there are two ideas I am rolling around. Either

A: Paint the underside redfire to match the car
B: Paint the underside redfire but make the hood vent sections black to flow with the black and red theme under the hood. So basically where the hood dips on both sides for the heat vents, paint them black while leaving the main flat surface of the hood redfire.

I am going to paint from edge to edge to make sure there is no visible difference in color and to clean up where the prop rod and hood bumpers have worn the paint.

Also, if anyone wants to try to photoshop the underside in the two tone, that would be great too.

For reference, here is a shot of my hood as it is today (I don't have the prop rod anymore tho:

And here is a shot of the engine bay for reference for anyone not familiar with where the engine is at this point

Here's my best MS Paint rendition of what I'm thinking...

if you dont want to take the hood off, have a shop clean up the underside so it looks nice and slick then paint it I would just go with normal redfire. Mine was painted when I had my hood replaced and it looks like the factory should have done it~ but you can see the edges where the parts come together and such that could have been sanded and such to make for a better final look.

I wonder what it would look like if the indentations on the underside were carbon fiber painted and everything else was done in redfire hmm

The hood has been off the car several times, so that's not an issue.

As for the edges, I Plan to do some finishing on them...I've tossed around the idea of fiber glassing them to smooth them out...but will probably just clean up the edges as you know they are terribly unfinished.

I think it would look better painted redfire. Looking at your quick MS Paint rendition, the two black areas look out of place, maybe because there isn't more black near it (on the underside of the hood). The black/red scheme looks good in the engine bay because there is enough of a balance between to the two. (red - valve covers, pulley, inlet tube, strut towers balance with the black - KB, hoses, plug covers, etc.)

That's just my .02

Now a mirrored look like you see in the old muscle show cars would be sweet

Re: Paint opinions needed - photoshop too maybe

This may sound weird, but looking at the original picture of the underside of your hood leads me to think that painting the whole thing redfire would be good, and then just add a bit of black to the redfire and shoot the bottom of the scoops a darker redfire. Look at your original pic close, and perhaps you'll see what I mean. A two-tone red would look good, I think. It wouldn't have the stark contrast of the redfire and black. Just my opinion.
