HID Problems

Hello All,

I went in for my yearly safety inspection and I failed because of my passenger side headlight. It seems this side doesn't switch from low to high or vice versa... Cant really tell as I never switch them. They guy said it might be a bad bulb. It turns on, but it doesn't switch. Any help?

Re: HID Problems

A bulb seems likely. It's worth trying, I know the turn signal bulbs have two elements to them. One for brake lights and one for turn.

Re: HID Problems

Does the car have HID's installed? These cars come with normal halogen bulbs from the factory that have 2 filaments, one for low beams, one for high beams.

Re: HID Problems

That happened to me to only one of my headlights work in high beams except they werent HID's. If you got the dual beam or hi/low HID's then it could be that the filament for the high beams burnt out. you might have to just get a new bulb.

Re: HID Problems

Thanks guys! I ended up changing out the ballast and the bulbs. Now they work but I do have a new question. Depending on which way you attach the adapter ring (they are 9004/9007 HID Bulbs) the blue wire will install on top or bottom. Does anyone know which way this should be sitting? Should it be under the bulb or on top? I have included some pics to give you a better idea of what I am talking about.
