reverse glow gauges

They won't light up. I have the red wire connected to the brown wire off the light switch and the ground wire wrapped around one of the screws in there. and no light . any idears?

get a tester to see if the power is comming though that brown wire, they are little screwdriver looking things with a light in them and a wire. Touch the one end to a ground and the other to the power source and it lights up if the wire is not. If it is hot (and only hot when the lights need to be on aka the head light knob is pulled out) then the ground wire may be in a bad spot.

Yeah i just got a tester thingy. I'll check it out in a bit. I took the whole bezel apart during my break here at work, people must think I'm nutz. so if the ground is no good it won't light up?
