Re: carbon fiber-ish hood

Okay I understand u don't like it. But I have a 40th anniversary base hood. So from base to gt/roush style hood is in my opinion a great look for the car

Re: carbon fiber-ish hood

The main reason I got it is because of the hood scoop which u can't puut on a base 2004 hood

Re: carbon fiber-ish hood

I think what really bothers people are those little side vents by the scoop. It makes it look cheap and ricey. I don't think it's that bad, its basically a GT hood scoop molded into the hood minus the vents. I've seen this hood on other mustangs before. We really are OEM freaks here, well at least I am...

My only thing is that you could find a 99-04 GT hood for pretty cheap...or you could've tried to get the GT hood through insurance...if they're allowing that hood to be bought.

Re: carbon fiber-ish hood

The gt hood was 600 more and it would have been out of pocket. So I needed to find a hood that was at least similar in price

$600 more! Where the hell are you shopping. I can get new OEM hoods for around $350 sometimes cheaper, and used ones for $120 with the scoop, not painted of course but even after paint that's still cheap.

Oh, well I guess it depends on how your body shop does parts. My body shop guy can get the parts for around cost thru his 3rd party...plus a factory match on the paint. I can't argue with that.
