Re: 2004 Sonic Blue Mustang GT

ill try and get some pics tomorrow evening and post them in the night.
I got some questions, gettin ready to do some ordering:
Pulleys, What kind and what brand.
H pipes or offroad X pipes, and what brand.
Cams, what kind and brand.
And some other power adders you guys know of other than a supercharger.

thanks
casey

-Pulleys - Any brand, March, BBK, etc.
-H or X-pipe - BBk makes both and they are really good and not to expensive. I would get an x-pipe but I know several people who like h-pipes better, they sound different.
-Cams - Comp Cams, or VT both make good cams, as for how big, I can't really tell you that, but I would get a somewhat mild cam for street use.
-Other power adders - Nitrious Oxide, CAI, Throttlebody, Headers, Ported head.

Re: 2004 Sonic Blue Mustang GT

yeah the back wheel looked a mile wide. I hope it dont look bad. If it does ill just go trade them in for a different size. But the 10.5 should help that thing huge the road.

Re: 2004 Sonic Blue Mustang GT

Hey guys,
Its been i while sence ive been on here and things with the stang were at a halt and are starting back up.
Heres whats done to it:
BBK cold air intake
Dual chambered flowmasters
MGW short throw shifter
Eibach 2inch lower springs
Saleen 18*9 (245-40-18) in front and 18*10 (275-40-18) in rear.
Jensen Dual den dvd player.

To come- Trick flow or accufab throttlebody, larger mass flow air senser, 3.73 gear and the exhaust.

Im gettin ready to order in some headers and an x-pipe but i have no clue which one to order and what brand. What are some good brands to order. I have a nice deep sound now but im wanting more without the crackin poppin back firing sound.

Within this year the car will be supercharged with either a novi 2000, vortech of some sort or a KB 2.2 blower.

Please post any and all recommendations and comments.
Thanks guys

casey

Re: 2004 Sonic Blue Mustang GT

The cracking comes from the catback in most cases....but an off road mid pipe will help out making crackles some times as well.

Anyhow...my suggestions are:

Bassani Midlength headers and the Bassani 5 piece x-pipe that will let you change from o/r to legal anytime you want.

It will be a bit pricey....about $1200 for both pieces, but, it will be worth it in my opinion. They are both stainless and will last a long long time. Plus, the headers will maintain your current ground clearance so if you lower later, or are lowered now, you won't have the worry of scraping every time there is a bump in the road.

Having dual chambers will help with that...mine crack and pop on deceleration, but I like that...and I have straight through borla and an offroad x.

Yeah i may go 285 but 275 will be enough. I dont kill this car. I plan to buy a 88-89 model so i can save the miles on the 04. Last year of this body style plus a 40th anniv. May be worth something one day.haha
