Girls vs Stangs

OK So I'm lookin at my mustang.... I've done a purty good job on it so far I think.... When I sit in it and look very closely at the interior. Now I can hang with the guys with keeping my girlish ways...I just noticed how gross my steering wheel is becoming. It looks like gobs of makeup. I took my finger nail and scraped some of it off but I think that is going to take way too long to clean the entire thing. How can I clean it?:drive:

Re: Girls vs Stangs

first off, how did u get makeup on your steering wheel?

secondly, maguires gold leather cleaner seemed to clean up the interior of my car pretty well, especially when my friend spilled ice cream on my back seat, didn't tell me, and i had these crazy marks on my LEATHER seats... but they came right out...also leaves a barrier on the interior to help protect...i'll see if i can find the exact name of it, i'll update after i go to my car later

that seemed to work the best, so give that a shot

and u may want to invest in a steering wheel cover

Re: Girls vs Stangs

Buy the leather wipes its far easier than the liquid and it doesnt get in the little grooves and look like crap.

nah mine is a foam, it works really well, cause what u miss just disappears...i found that sometimes the wipes can leave streaks, especially on the seats

Re: Girls vs Stangs

It should come off with some scrubbing and protectant compound of your choice. I use armorall on my interior, and it takes all the marks off like a champ with a little bit of elbow grease.

Re: Girls vs Stangs

if its to far gone you can upgrade to a nice fr500/ford racing steering wheel (MUCH nicer than oem or oem with leather) or you can pick up an oem but I wouldnt pay more than 100 bucks for one (ford racing is like 160)

Cool Re: Girls vs Stangs

Ok everybody here is my choice to clean anything on the car but the painted surfaces. its water and a Mr Clean magic eraser it does a good job on any build up of body oils and the likes it cleans down inside the grooves really well and after your through rinse it off with a damp towl let it dry and put the armor all or what ever back on to give it shine I wouldn't put any slick stuff on the stearing wheel or it may cause you trouble driving I like to have a good grip on the steering wheel myself. also some of our dashes are painted at the factory so go lightly on the cleaning. hope this helps

Re: Girls vs Stangs

Try Zep Vinyl cleaner. It takes yucky stuff off all vinyl plastics. Keep it away from leather and paint though, it will runin that stuff. I used to use this on my truck all the time.

Re: Girls vs Stangs

The best thing for the inyerior is SHOUT spray and everything will come off. It is also good on carpet and upholstery. My kids smashed a Rolo into the rear seat and shout magically made it disappear where that useless upholstery cleaner foam crap did not budge the rolo smear.

SHOUT IT OUT !!!!!
