Opinions needed on hood vents

Ok, I am looking to maybe replace my stock hood vents with something a bit more durable and fade resistant. There are currently 2 choices on the market today...Billetflow and this new company that just released a product. They both make an anodized aluminum vent. The billetflow vent is stock like in that it just has horizontal vent slits. The other company is Fore Precision and their is a much different design.

Anyhow, here are the (many) pics:

I really didn't like them at first, but the more I look at em, the more they grow on me.

The first one but I have a little more rice in me than your typical mustang owner.

I think they would look alright though. The Billets are atrocious but that grilling pic is funny lol.

They will for sure be black, I don't like the clear. The only way I would get the clear is I decided I wanted to color match them to the car. Both offer a raw version for powder coating/painting...

What is everyone's basis for keeping the stock ones. Is their an argument for stock or are y'all just thinking don't add new **** to the car and keep it au natural...

i just think stock looks good enough..................and if those are the only two choices, one really doesnt look way better enough for me to say "damn, that looks good, get that......way better than stock"

I don't want "good enough" though...nothing on my car is going to be "good enough"...hence the reason the fender will be replaced even though you can't tell it was bent in...and why my exhaust will be welded when the long tubes go in because I want NO leaks...period...none of that "good enough, all exhaust leak" bs....

oh i realize that, i'm the same way with my car..............which is why if its not fixed to perfection, i dont want it fixed. but what i am getting at is that personally, if i paid more than like 20-30 for it, i would fear the change might be too subtle for the money spent on it.

and dont doubt cody's ability to bolt on an x pipe.....................

Re: Opinions needed on hood vents

the stock pieces suck. I had bird**** in mine it took me a hour with a toothpick and a thoothbrush with back to black to get them back to good shape.

I dont like the Fore ones, too open IMO. the Billetflow are awesome though, if i was keeping mine id get a set in black like asap now that i have the link (i only thought fore was the only option other than stock). Its a nice subtle change that makes life easier and will still look perfect years to come. Plus grilling after a 10 second run owns.

and its seriously 255 for a set? wow, thats ****ing ripoff, **** that. if it was around 60 bucks id do it, not 200$+, id look into making my own before forking out that kind of money on two 2" x 6" pieces of 1/2" aluminum that cost all of 15$ raw material cost.

The other two look extremely tacky in my opinion.
