Installing 7in touchscreen head unit

Im installing a 7in double din dvd gps in my 99 and need help installing it i cant find anywhere someone who has already done this or much less how to even install it .I know ofcorse you need a double din dash to start with so i got one from a 01 im putting in but besides that and the head unit its self does anyone know of other parts you may need special wires or anything ?

I've heard there a special harness . Have u looked in Haynes manual? I want to install same type in my car but I think I know a guy he said he sell me one ,bypass the emergncy brake safety for DVD and the all for low price . And tint . Let us know what u find out and I'll do the same

There is no special procedure when installing this compared to a single din. I installed a 7 inch with a toggle switch to bypass the DVD ebrake.

Just call ur local sound shop and they should be able to get you the harness you need

I have a 2000 GT that has the same 2 deck set up can you switch that double deck trim with like the 2002 model trim that has the double din so i can put a DVD in mine. please help wanting to do this ASAP

That should work correctly. I'm not 100% sure but I doubt much changed b/w the two. Find a trim from a 2002 and try it out.

Is it difficult to bypass the e-brake cable? i had one in an old truck and everytime i hit the brake it would make the screen blink. It drove me nuts, and has turned me off touch screen DVD systems.

The wire thats suppised to go to ebrake ground it to black ground wire and itll bypass the ebrake feature..ive installed one in my 04 and my bros 02

This is what we did with my old 99 stang. We took the existing frame and just cut off the middle part so that it wasn't singles anymore and just sanded the sides down to make it even. We moved the heater/ AC control panel to the bottom where the stock cd player was.
