IMO Pioneer decks are best, Boston Acoustic mids and highs, and Rockford Fosgate Subs and amps are best. This isn't just a one time install thing, I've installed close to 100 systems and this combination seems to work out best in the end. The only problem is this combo is freaking expensive. It's what I plan to do though. Sony makes some pretty good stuff but are starting to go cheap with it. To be honest, Pioneer is beginning to go cheap as well. I wouldn't buy anything under a 740mp premier in IMO. Ok, my 2 cents as an installer.

You cant beat a Alpine HeadUnit IMO. I swear by Kicker Subs. Kicker Amps are underrated as well.

I have polk audio door and rear deck speakers and I am happy with those. Not the best but they are pretty good.

kicker subs are great but theyre power hungry.... youve gotta have a great amp that works well with the subs. YOu cant just go out and buy any amp with kicker subs... you gotta know what youre doing when you buy a combo like that

So you do like I told charles and buy the Kicker 600.1

I have 1 Kicker CompVr ina side vented box with a planet audio 300.1 amp pushing 300 rms into the sub.

it pounds.

I have had to prove to people that its just one sub 8)

Yes, kicker makes some really good stuff. I don't like the procomp series but the solobaric series subs are pretty good. I'm trying to choose what I would like to do with my car this summer and I'm trying to decide on a L7 12 with Kicker amp or Fosgate HX2 12 with bd500.1 amp. It's just people's opinion. I have two subs in my car right now and it takes up way too much room. I'll post a pic of the system in my car right now.

These 2 12's take up a ton of room.

If you're gonna replace stock speakers put nothing less than boston acoustics in. It's just not worth it otherwise.

And as far as L7's go, they'll take as much power as you can feed to them. I put two L5s in a MR2 with 2000 watts to each and they ate it all up. It was unreal.
