2001 V6 Can I Paint Interior? And How?

I have a 2001 sixxer and I don't like the tan inside and I was wondering if I could paint it blue like exterior or black. Is it possible?

R u looking to paint everything? That's gonna be a huge pain to remove all those panels. Certainly possible though. Imo its one thing you just have to deal with unless its a restoration project. You could paint the inserts like the window switch panel, bezel around the radio, etc. That's what most people do although im not a fan.

Krylon fusion paint for plastics is AMAZING - i'm restoring + upgrading my 00 v6 and I did there satin black color it came out looking like it came from the factory that way - and honestly i'm not that great of a sprayer - Removeing the panels really... isn't that difficult - for the dash tape up paper to the windshield and spray...

you'll need about 4-5 cans of it for the entire interior- good luck man hope you look into it. amazing stuff

Black would look good. What color are your seats though? What exactly all are you talking about painting...I mean its good to ask opinions and stuff but its ultimately up to you and w/e you want/like.

Re: 2001 V6 Can I Paint Interior? And How?

it can be done, the issue is ... if its shinny like the outside it will blind you while driving lol

late model restoration makes paint (just like they do from the factory same type) to re cover the panels to make them black for example. Tan is ugly in the early years (pre 99) and not much better in 99-04.... so black or some variation is probably a good way to go.

I love krylon fusion it works awesome on plastics i did my interior as well with it. Panels arent that hard to take off at all. You will like the way it comes out.

Re: 2001 V6 Can I Paint Interior? And How?

I came to this thread because I was hoping it'd be the same question I had. But since it's not I'll just ask here instead of creating a new thread. I am interested in painting in a few interior spots. Nothing major, no panels or plastic since my interior is two toned and already came that way. I am curious as to how I would tackle the steering wheel and dash.

Steering Wheel: I want to paint the Horse, SRS, the dots on the left and right, the horn symbol, and the line in.

Passenger Dash: SRS and the Mustang that is in cursive.

As stated above, my car is two toned interior, tan and dark brown.. so I want to paint these spots with brown. Interested in how to tackle that and what product to use.
