Installing subs in 2011?

I'm attempting to install 2 subs in my 2011 and I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to do this while still keeping the stock radio in. Any help would be great.

if it's a shaker 1,000 you already have subs i believe there in the doors.if you get subs that are seperate you will need an amp then tie into stereo, and power from batt.the stereo they come with are pretty good tho.good luck i recomend crutchfield if you go with after market subs!

It's only the shaker 500 system. The subs are separate, 2 12" Memphis. My question was if the amp I purchased is able to be installed to the stock radio.
If I didn't already have the subs, I'd definitely look at the crutchfield ones. I'll keep them in mind for the future.

I'm wanting to keep my door speakers in. Lol
That's what I'm wanting to do with mine, putting them in the truck with my kicker amp.
Hopefully it is compatible since I have the touch screen electronics package. Haha
Thank you.

Re: Installing subs in 2011?

Man I wish I was up on all the radio system stuff, I want to put a system in my car also and have no clue what to do. Looks like I would have to take it to a place to get done.

There is a write up someone did to do this on a 2011, I can't remember the link but if I find it I'll post it for you.... I think what you need in order to keep your stock radio is a MTX reQ. It will allow you to tap into your rear deck speakers and the reQ unit adjusts the subs so they only play lower frequencies and it helps with volume.. My suggestion if you can't find the link is to call Crutchfield and ask if the reQ is what you need, or call a local audio shop, you can still use your memphis subs but Crutchfield should talk you through everything especially if you buy your reQ from them. There may be similar/cheaper units than the reQ but I know thats what the guy used for the write up. Best of luck though, and let us know how it turns out!
