Re: Subs

I did a search one time on the net and saw them showing how to make a custom box for in the rear spare tire well on a fox. They made it look easy and I tought about trying to do it myself some time.

I like to keep that nice clean stock look as much as I could if I do try it out.

Well my subs and box are in and I can't wait to install them! It's a custom box from Zenclouser and it seems to be a pretty nicely made box and fits perfect in the truck!

Nice! You'll be very impressed with the type r's. I have one and it's uncomfortable to be in the car when it's turned up. What amp are you running?

It cost about $130. It'll do until I can afford a better one. I was looking at the Alpine and every where I looked they were about $300. Guess I was just looking in the wrong spots haha

Hmm, do you know how to wire them correctly? Your amp puts out 1000watts at 1ohm. If you can't wire them to one ohm, you wont get anywhere near the max power.

It looks like you can only wire them down to 2 ohms, which means only 600watts total. Do you think you can return them and get some 1243s? Then you'd get the best power.

Edit: although, if you're looking to upgrade amps anyway, this might work for the time being. The alpine mrp-m1000 amp makes 1000watts at 2 ohms, so the setup you have would be perfect.

Ya I hear you but I think I'm just going to stick with them. I don't need anything super powerful. I already got the shaker 500 system. So I think these will do

Yeah, just know that you can't put them full volume with that amp, it'll make the subs distort and destroy them.
