Single 12". Sealed box. Recommend an alpine type r with an alpine 500 watt amp. Nice and powerful. Check out my post called "my plans" and look at my set up.

Re: Subs

Dual 10" subs. either kicker or alpine. 500 watt is the lowest you want to go and probably a good 1000watt amp will do it. 2000 watt amp is good to just have to watch you don't crank to much amps into the subs and blow them up.

Depends on what you want, 12" for deep bass, dual 10"s for very accurate punchy bass

Re: Subs

haha dude you should of heard my 10 inch alpines with my 2000 watt amp in the back of my jeep. The subs were 1000 watts a piece. It thumped big time. I got looks all the time. I had to run a capacitor to manage everything. Ended up blowing the subs cause I ran to much through them. hahaha it was insane

Yeah, I'd say if you want
Loud boomy bass: kicker compvr 12" in a nice ported box, and about a 400-500 watt amp.

Tight accurate and still loud bass: alpine type r 12" in a sealed or ported box with a 500-750 watt amp.

I would recommend the alpine though, I've heard great things about them being very accurate and loud as hell. Oh, and it's what I'm putting in my car in a week.

They're powerful... But also pretty expensive. You can get and alpine 12", alpine amp, box and wiring kit off amazon for about $350.

Wha?!? I've seen the sub go for about $450, box for about $90, and amp for around $200... Maybe not $1000, but like ~$750.

Imagine blowing into a bag lightly then taking a deep breath you won't have any more air it's the same thing with subs when they hit a deep note they'll retract but when another note hits it won't be able to breath it'll be like a suction cup

go on craigs list, people are sellin subs all the time, they're cheap, and most times the warranty's still good. i'm trying to purchase 2 sony 10's in a sealed box and a 1000w amp for 75 bones, and they're in great shape. great deals for those who are willing to look.
