Advice on head unit

Alright, I can have my sub, amp, capacitor, and new cd player installed and the amp checked all for $140 at Best Buy. Doesn't sound too bad. I don't drive the car on the road yet so I've hot time, but I'd like to get them hooked up. The sub will be easy, but I've never wired a cd player. I don't want to mess anything up. It's a
Pioneer SuperTuner3D
Mosfet 50Wx4
DEH-1100MP
Can someone see about a wiring diagram for this, or if you've ever had this model can you help?

I have never done a fox but it should have a wiring harness for it on Crutchfield.com or any auto shop.

It is pretty simple when you have the harness.

+1 for crutchfield. Then all you have to do is match up a bunch of wires and connect them.

Yeah. I'll check it out. I'll probably just order one from there along with the whole installation kit. Thanks.

Re: Advice on head unit

If it still has the factory harness plugs in the car, go to walmart and buy the wire kit. On the radio you should have
black= ground
red= ignition
yellow=constant hot all the time and maybe a
orange wire that goes to your dash lights but you don't have to hook this up.
purple is rear right
green is rear left and
white is front left and
grey is front right.
blue or blue/white stripe is remote to amp.

Yeah, the factory radio is still in it. I went to a few places and looked and they had tge installation kit for 94 and up models. And they had another kit for fords but it was for earlier model mustangs than mine? Didn't say anything about an 89.

Re: Advice on head unit

Well you need to pull the radio out and see if it has the two flat plugs or one flat and a square plug.
The two flat plugs are the earlier ford plugins. The one flat plug and one square plug is the 94 up plug wich also meens you have a factory amp. But i'm sure that you have the two flat plugs.

this is the two flat plugs. sometimes they come with both styles.

Alright I found the right one on crutchfield but it asks me to select if it's for 4 or 6 speakers. I've hot pioneer door speakers and infinity rear tray speakers, and I don't have any for the dash, but I may end up getting some later on, or maybe not. So should I just select the option of 4 speakers?

Also, is there anything I can use to take the radio out, because I probably won't be stopping by the parts store anytime soon to get the special keys.

Re: Advice on head unit

I've heard that you can use a wire coat hanger but it didn't work to well with mine. Worth a shot though.

Alright, heres the wiring harness: Receiver Wire Harness For select 1986-up Ford, Jaguar, Lincoln, Mazda, Mercury, and Nissan models with rectangular plugs - Accessories at Crutchfield.com

Heres the installation kit: Ford Mustang In-dash Receiver Kit Fits select 1987-93 models Chassis sizes S & E, rack-mount at Crutchfield.com

Heres the keys: Universal DIN Tool (Pair) For Factory Radio Removal at Crutchfield.com

Is that the right installation kit?
And yes, ive tried a nail before, and ive tried paper clips...ill think of something else though. The keys are only 5 bucks though.

Alright, so me and my dad fixed my sub box, and cut it to fit in my trunk. It barely fits....barely. It almost touches the trunk when you close it. I got the keys, wiring harness, and installation kit ordered. Hopefully that'll come in soon, and I can wire it up and wire my subs.

Yeah, just connect wire to wire? Lol. I can wire my sub, but I'm not sure where to run it. Might run the wire behind tge back seat, on the left side and under the side strip that holds the carpet down under the door, then through the fire wall.

Thats what I did. Also even if your automatic there should be a rubber plug where the clutch cable would go through in the firewall near the brake booster, I cut a hole in mine and ran the wire through it.

I ordered last night at about 11 and got standard shipping. Does anyone that's ever dealt with them, have any idea how long it will take to get to rock hill sc?
