Sound System

I have a 2007 V6 Deluxe and the sound system is pretty good for a weak factory install but my heart yearns for a Shaker 500 or 1000 can I buy the amps and subs anywhere after market or can I just pay Ford to install one for me?

Re: Sound System

well, that's a gonna be a matter of opinion and how you like it, I would not go to the dealer, I'd go to a sound shop for it and tell them exactly how I want it to sound and what i want in it, I mean they are specialized in that so they are the pros, on the other hand if you are a DIYer, you can check other mustangs with that sound and make your own tests until its perfect for you.

Don't go to the dealer!! They will overprice everything!!! Just go to a shop and tell them what you want. In my 2006 dually they wanted upwards of $300 to replace the single cd changer and that's all...I got a much better deal at a sound shop.

Go aftermarket. The Mach1000 is a joke in the aftermarket world. You can get better sound with new speakers, an amp, and a sub and amp. My whole system will be under $600 for Rockford fosgate speakers, alpine 4 channel amp, alpine type r 12", alpine 500watt amp, and all the wiring.
