dash install kit

Does anyone know what year they changed the stereo set ups? I'm trying to install a new head unit and I'm not sure what year they changed it. The install kit says 01-04 and I have a 2000. I was just wandering if it would work. Thanks guys.

Re: dash install kit

I believe the mach 460 with the 6 disc was available for the v6 mustangs starting in 2001. That's when they really changed the head unit layout. The Mach 460 started back in the late 90's, but the head unit style was the same, the double stack cd/cassette.

Not too familiar with the setup behind the unit on the pre 01's...

The 99 00 models had the split cd tape decks. The 01 up had the 6 disk changer built into the same unit.
