That sub is in a sealed box at this time as I have always heard that you get tighter bass from sealed as opposed to ported. As I initially said I do not want to wake the neighbors, I just want nice tight bass (rock, metal and rarely some r&b or rap). The rest of my system is pioneer and infinity speakers. I think the sound is pretty good now as all of the speakers minus dash are powered by kenwood amps. I really wanted to see your layouts to get some ideas on cool things to do and placement as I can't afford what my neighbor spends on his ($8000) to have someone else do it. I have a simple amp rack and box I built but want a cleaner install. I'll post pics of what I have when I get home from work to show you what I mean. Thanks in advance.
Sry it was not my intencion to be drug into a dick showing contest i mearly wish to help and from what ive heard i think ull do good with a set of high quality 12 in subs in a sealed box fiber glass or wood is ur personal prefrence and comes down to: r u making a show car? Or r u just wanting a little thump in the trunk?

So the Pioneer amp runs the sub only. The Fultron amp runs he door and deck speakers, and the Kenwood runs the Infinity speakers in the rear trim panels. I know I have a mix of amps and I am working towards getting all Pioneer as I have had good luck with Pioneer. I removed the Lightning Audio amp as the Pioneer seems more powerful. As I sell the other amps off I will be replacing with pioneer.

The sub is a 10" Polk Audio db in a sealed box I constructed. I am looking at making a fiberglass enclosure moulded into the corner it's in now. I don't think now that I will reverse mount the sub as it will take away the precious space I have, but then again I do not put anything back there.

On a side note the Pioneer I have now is a GM-X722 with 1 internal fan. Does anyone know if this fan stays on all the time or does it have a temp sensor and only kicks on when needed.

If u want a fiber glass set up then first get the build going do it to your liking wether 15" or 12" subs if u want A loud thump then get a single 15 in a comp. Ported box or 2 12" in a ported box with a 2000 watt amp and another 900 watt amp for your highs/mids if you only want to run highs u can get some low budget speakers or if u want to run some mids then grab some good component speakers it cost a lil bit more like that but it sounds better
