JDF, That is a easy fix, super easy for a shop, elct. shop, tv shop etc. If you got any place like that around, that in a easy and cheap fix. It is Soldering, but if you are not use to doing that, I would drop it off at a shop, they could probably do it while you stand there waiting.

The hard part is going to be getting the speaker pulled apart without damaging anything. I bet you could solder it. It doesn't take much.. Just make sure you get. Low wattage solder iron, and some medium grade solder.. To make things extra easy you can also get flux..

So I went ahead and out a little silicone on the wire that was loose. My fear with solder was that it would just tear the wire due to the wire having to move back and forth a lot.

Haha I'm not in the south. When I made this account for some reason it decided Colorado was actually Alabama and I mostly use the iPod app so I can't change it. But I'll try and get a picture up.

Haha that's fine by me. Does it help to say that my dad suggested it to me and his dad was from the south?

Well it's in and it works!!!! I'm gonna keep an eye on it for a few days. I'm definitely gonna need to put it through its paces... Hmm maybe I'll commandeer my brothers Skrillex collection

Ok completely disregard the previous statement, it worked until I cranked the music up and then I got one glorious note before it decided not to work.

Soldering it is probably going to be your best bey... If you're worried about the solder breaking loose just make sure you get both the wore and the terminal or whatever youre soldering to hot enough to really stick. Also you may considder adding a little more wire so that the movement on the solder point isn't so dramatic.

I'm probably just gonna take it to car toys. The wire goes from the cone to a plastic elbow and down to the connector do I have no way of adding more wire.

Alright time to raise a dead thread. So I went in to the local Car Toys with just the woofer and asked them to take a look at it, apparently its just fine. I didn't quite believe them but I took it home, installed it and toy disbelief it works!!!! Now I'm just skeptical about how long it will last...

Life's funny like that some time, but the more important part is for you to figure out why that happened, so it can be avoided in the future.

That's what I'm working on doing. I may take the whole set up to Car Toys and have them look everything over just to be safe.
