Shaker Sound System(s)

...Climbs up on Soap Box...

The Shaker sound system is AWFUL to work on!!!! I think Ford purposely designed the Shaker system so you have to jump thru ridiculous hoops to replace anything or add any additional components to the system. Maybe it was intended as a deterent from people modifying their sound systems, who knows.

My suggestion to anyone that intends to at some point modify their sound system: do NOT buy a Shaker 500/1000 equipped car because they are awful if you intend to do any work on the system. Get a car with the standard equipped single disk CD player as it will make your life much easier & cheaper down the road when it comes time to do anything like replacing the head unit, speakers, or adding amp/subs to the trunk.

That is all.

Re: Shaker Sound System(s)

Haha.. The shaker is leaps and bounds over my old chrysler. I can't imagine the ease of working on the 2010+..(grin)
