mounting 8's in the back?

Would it be possible to mount 8 inch subs in the back speaker ports on a 2000 V6? I can't decide what option to take with subs and stereo upgrades. The amps installed under the back speakers (Mach system) are throwing a curve ball into my limited knowledge of car stereo. I dont need a ton of bass, but would like the ability. I know I'd have to cut out a bigger hole to put in 8's, but I think it sounds like a cool idea...

It is quite a tight fit in that rear deck. If you don't need loud booming bass you could go with 1-2 10" subs in the trunk. There is a mustang specific enclosure that fits against the back seat and holds 2 12's or 2 10's and you keep your trunkspace. They run about 85 bucks and for what it sounds like you want that seems like a good option.

Yeah, that's what I've been looking at the most. Kinda like just one 12 to one side and mount the amp on the other side. Don't think such a small cab needs two subs as long as I get a good amp and higher quality sub.

Yep. I'm making a molded fiberglass box that fits behind the wheel well for a kicker cvr 15. I have quite a bit more work to do but it will fit great and be worth the time and effort.
