Shaker 1000 sub question - Mustang Evolution

Shaker 1000 sub question

Is it possible to pull that black box out of the trunk and replace the speakers in it? How big a PITA would that be? Not crazy about the sound quality from that thing and wonder if that's a better fix than replacing the whole box...?
