So you are going to have to take out the plastic speaker box that the amps, speakers and tweeters are housed in. This is no easy task... but the box will drop down if you loosen the bolts that are located in the circular holes that can be mistaken for air ports. Hopefully when you take the stock speaker box out you can slide your sub box up in there. The plastic box may or may not fit back up there.

What do you mean by "after market receiver?"

He means a new headunit. Like how I have an alpine headunit in mine.

OK that's what I thought you meant... the head unit should work if you just splice it into the harness that you should get with the unit. BUT... if you are planing on upgrading your drivers... well you are in for a serious migraine! The stock system runs on a 3ohm circuit while most new drivers require a 4ohm circuit. Ford really should be shot for this... for those who want more out of their aging 460 it is easier to just rewire the entire car and buy a nice 4 channel amp to drive your new speakers. Its not cheap either. Sorry man I've been exactly where you are right now. I finally sold my headache and bought a 2012 that I'm going to try to do something with in the future.

My amps went out. I decided to just replace and require everything. Your right. Ford should be shot for that

If anyone needs the amps and that plastic box I have one... just taking up space in my garage. Need it gone (wink wink) but can't post to classifieds yet. Just shoot me a private message. I have some other goodies from my old 03 too.
