Mach 460 sound

I have to replace my speakers in my 2000 vert. They sound horrible. I am also getting a new head unit. So I need to decide if I should stick with the existing set up with the bypass and the amps or just get some good speakers and a regular set up. I don't want to get a "system" just want my music to sound good. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I was doin the same thing and it was a pain n the a$$. Best way i came up with was that i ripped all my mach 460 out. All amps and all speakers and replaced the speakers with Kenwood 6x8s and 5x7s with a Kenwood exceleon cd player and its sounds awesome. That was the simplest way for me rather than having to runs bypasses and all that. Bass mids and highs r still there. I put a system n my car so i use the for mids and highs now. But before it sounded real good.

Yep. Replaced everything with Kenwood and ran all new wires from the aftermarket cd player to the speakers. Besides the 2 amps n the back there is an amp n the dash that i had to remove as well. And took out the box n the trunk. But if u get some really good speakers and don't want any subs leave that box n and mount Ur aftermarket speakers n there and u will have better bass from the back speakers.
