I ripped out all my mach 460 and i put 2 5x7 Kenwood n the front and 2 6x8 n back. Sounded real good with the Kenwood exceleon cd player. I have subs n there now so i just use them for highs and mids. But it sounded good before the system. But it just depends on who u r partial to. There r a lot of good speakers out there. Kicker sounds good, Kenwood, infinity, focal, just depends. But those r some of my tops but other folks r partial to other manufactures. What r u goin for? Sq or eventually a system or what?

Re: component speakers

Look up the "Shelby GT" speakers, they are actually "Kicker" speakers, up front they replaced my stock speakers with 8" Front speakers, and my Rear speakers with Long throw 6X8" speakers. They sound excellant, and fit right in the Stock locations, just like factory.

I still have my stock "Shaker 500" Head unit, it gives me No problems at all, that's why I have not rushed out and replaced it with anything. It's a good unit and it does alot of things, And a real biggie with it, is the fact that it Holds 5 or 6 CD's in it, and I have not really seen where some of these newer units hold more than just one at a time. If anyone knows of a unit that does, then throw that name at me.
